2012 Hatching Egg Production

Domestic egg production in 2012 was up 7.4% from 2011. Domestic egg hatchability remained steady at approximately 80 percent. Imported eggs dropped by almost 7% compared to 2011 but imported chicks increased by just under 15%.  The percentage of Manitoba chicks placed in Manitoba rose to 80.5% from 78% in 2011.
