2014 Hatching Egg Production

Domestic egg production in 2014 was down 1.2% from 2013. Domestic egg hatchability improved slightly to 82%.  Imported eggs increased 3.85% in 2014 after having dropped 20.5% in 2013.   Imported chicks dropped by over 70% compared to 2013.  The percentage of Manitoba chicks placed in Manitoba dropped to 82.6% from 86% in 2013.
