2016 HATCHING EGG PRODUCTION

Manitoba hatching egg production increased by 8.24% from 2015, resulting in a quota utilization of 100.58%. Domestic egg hatchability was essentially unchanged from the previous year. Imported eggs decreased by 18.73% and imported chicks dropped by 8.9% compared to 2015. The percentage of Manitoba chicks placed in Manitoba rose 3.6% to 83.1% (79.5% in 2015).
