2017 HATCHING EGG PRODUCTION

Manitoba hatching egg production increased by 0.19% from 2016, resulting in a quota utilization of 98.78%. Domestic egg hatchability was essentially unchanged from the previous year. Imported eggs increase by 20.73% and imported chicks increased by 60.22% compared to 2016. The percentage of Manitoba chicks placed in Manitoba fell 2.9%.
